How many...

How many miles will your car need to have before you consider trading it in and or upgrading it for a new model Camaro?

I have had the trade in/ upgrade bug lately and am not sure if I should or shouldn't.

I am sitting at 33 XXX miles right now on my 2011 1LT auto and my car has some signs of wear and tear of course - lots of rock chips and minor scratches. The high mileage plus signs of wear and tear have got me thinking when is the right time to trade in for everyone?

Plus recently I got a private initiative from my dealer offering me 2000$ off any car on their lot (for me any Camaro ) plus they would buy my car back for above average market prices.

Any opinions? Not sure what I should do, any advice would be great!

Three years is the acceptable length of time for me, for a new car.

And I'm getting a Corvette 7.

I am not sure I will like the next gen alpha platform so for me it's about trading my 5th gen in a few years for a garage queen 5th gen. But if you could jump on a new 2013 2lt RS for not much money, grab it!!

Right now the offer as I have seen it stands for trading in my 2011 1LT with sunroof and all the bells and whistles for a 2013 1LT RS without the sunroof. I think the difference I would end up having to pay after I trade in and take the new car home would be about 7500 to 9000 total with taxes.

I am debating either doing this or just going to town on the mods and purchasing a new set of rims, headers, CAI, and axle backs. Plus maybe some body mods such as an anvil spoiler.

I definetly am not interested in the new refresh that has occurred so I kind of want to decide before they start making those the standard on most lots.

that is a lot of money for 33,000 miles and the RS package. Definitely use it as mod money. Plus then you get to make your car your own instead of looking like every other RS. You can have a your unique beautiful car that turns heads or a newer stock car. It's your call but to me it's not worth that kind of money.

My 2010 1LT/RS auto has ^6k miles and I just got an offer letter for $20k. Earlier this year another dealer offered $21k. No thanks.

you already have all the bells and whistles, so looking for new similar car is all you have to gain? IMO, just hang on to what you have and mod it.

33,000 miles is considered high miles? If you had 60 or 70K now that would be high miles. The average is 15k a year. I'd keep it and mod it.

I though high mileage is 150k miles lol these cars should last well beyond 200k I believe 33k is barely broken in.
