Headers?

I'm getting ready to get a set of Stainless power headers and I am wondering if there is any sound or gain differences between 2" & 1" 7/8 primaries? Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated!

1 7/8" for less than 650rwhp 2" for more than 650rwhp. The reason is it will hurt your low end torque if you go with the 2" on a lightly modded motor. Get the 1 7/8"...they sound great.

I think stainless power only comes in 1 7/8 and you have to buy stainless works to get the 2" primaries.

I would love to see a dyno of both tube sizes sometimes your average power does not change that much it just shifts the power in the band so to speak.

I am sure on a some 15psi, ported heads, cam, etc all out build 2" are the way to go but even then I don't know wha the HP loss by runing 1 7/8 wold be. 5hp 10hp?

This is correct, at least for the time being. You will also want to pick up a new set of gaskets unless you want to reuse your old ones.

The 1 7/8 primaries are great for a lightly modified ZL1, and typically what we recommend.

Primary Size Choices:
  • 1-3/4" Primaries up to 450 RWHP - Great Torque for lightly Modded Daily driver or road course racer
  • 1-7/8" Primaries from 450-850 RWHP - Great Power for moderately mod to force induced beast
  • 2" Primaries from 850+ RWHP - Great for maximum all out power, only recommended for the most extreme builds
Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions. We offer just about every header on the market. (At least the good ones) and have a few specials going currently.

Best regards,

Tyler
