Do injectors go bad or sometimes get fouled

Let's just say I have a suspicion that one of my injectors is over working or maxed out at wide open throttle

Does something like this happen occassionally.

Is this a symptom of something else or maybe just some crap in the injector

No mods that would cause a need for bigger injectors here

Is what a symptom of something else? What exactly is the car doing? When did it start doing it?(After you filled up with gas somewhere/When it gets hot or cold) There is no way you're maxing out injectors with your mods. I'd say your 60-70% injector duty cycle, maybe less.

There's no way you're maxing out any of your injectors. What exactly is happening?

Car has 21,000 miles. Ever since one fill up on a trip when the car had 1500 miles on it, one injector on the passenger side is very noisy. It only happens under a heavy load and at WOT. Now again, I am only thinking that it is an injector. That is my best guess after this long a time and why I am asking these questions now.

That noise started when I accelerated onto the interstate right after that fillup. I have started threads before about it, and cannot get any where with the situation

I thought it was a slight exhaust leak at first. Now I'm wondering if a just have a bad injector or a piece of trash in it that is causing it to overwork

without hearing the sound myself its tough to advise you.

if you mistook it for exhaust leak type tap tap tap it could be a noisy lifter as well.

You should still be under warranty. I'd take it to the dealer to see if they can work it out. I'd be hesitant to think it was a injector though. They typically don't just go out on a mostly stock car. As SPCBA mentioned, a noisy lifter could be the culprit. Those DO go out.

Been to the dealer "normal"....not a lifter, does not do it at idle nor under normal cruising. Noise there only under heavy load. You cannot make it happen in your driveway to look for it.

Hello f5journal,

Sorry your experiencing this issue currently. I do see from your post that at 21k miles you are still in warranty and I recommend taking your vehicle in for diagnosis of this issue. If you are interested, I can help locate a dealer nearest you and set up the appointment as well if you like. I would need some information from you to do so that you can private message me. Here to help.

you may have to take the tech on a ride to demonstrate when the noise occurs.
