Which Drag Radial?
I'm presently running Nitto 555Rs in 275/40R20, and not real thrilled with them. Going to go to an 18" wheel with a 305/45R18 drag radial, and am trying to compare the NT05R vs: the MT ET Street II. Anybody out there that has run both on a 475 rwhp gen 5 that can give me a comparison?

The ET street is a far better tire.

I have used 4 brands of DR on my 4th gens and MT's are the best.
I have even done comparisons at the track the same day between Nitto and MT and Hoosier and MT.

I have ET streets and they do very well! A buddy of mine ran Nitto's then switched to MT and MT hooked much better!

I also do not particularly like the NT555R, they do need a lot of heat and work great on dry pavement in town :P Going with weld 17s and hoosier slicks

The nto5r is a great tire, I have them on 18s. I made a few failed passes on them and they stick like glue at 15 psi. I made 3 runs and bogged the crap out of my car! Going next weekend to give it another go, sticky tires mean a hole new way of launching, I learned that pretty quick. I don't think at your power level that nto5rs would be bad choice, they are cheaper! But really the mickys are the best tires.

They just need a lot of heat in them and they worked best for me with 20psi. Did not get a lot of run out of them and only 3,000 miles hope the MT last a little longer.

What psi are you running in them? With your HP and a good burn in the box i would think you should cut in the 1.70 60' or low 1.80

i ran the 555 on the street and personally i think they are close to the stockers. i dont like them at all. et is what i see ppl running at the track and most of them started with nittos and switched to the et. never tried the nt05 but would like to find a good used set to put in my pile with my 555 and later get some et and take them to the track and just do some test.
i never tried them at the track but i was cutting 1.81 to 185 on stockers . from the feel on the street 555 vs stockers it feels really close. i could be limited by my car tho as i dont have any suspen. work other then trialing and toe rods . im a m6 car they need help in suspen. i think.
