For those who didn't order the spare...see this!

For those of you like me that didn't get the spare tire. Have you heard of SLIME tire sealant?

I've tried this product and am pleasantly surprised at how well it holds up. So far I haven't had any bad results in all the vehicles and not to mention the ATV's and lawnmower I've owned also.

If you didn't get the spare and are worried about having a flat and getting back to civilization to "get 'er fixed" then this might be something to consider.

Of course if you didn't order the spare and get the compressor instead.................what if..............you have a bigger hole than expected. If you don't try slime, at least put something else in your car just in case.

I would like to know anyone else's opinion though.

Here's a link to check out.http://www.slime.com/

Yes I too have used Slime in my lawn tractor tires. I dont think I would put it into a P Zero tire though. It makes a real mess of the inside of tire and wheel and if they dont get it all cleaned up can cause some real balance problems. The car does come with a patch kit. Pretty simple to use. Just find hole, pull plug over the tip of driver, apply adhesive and shove in. Snip excess and air the tire up. If its a big hold or in the sidewall best to call Onstar roadside assistance anyway.

yeah but what you don't know, from a mechanics stand point is that it is the worst shit in the world. It may help as a quick fix but if the tire is not repaired the correct way and the rim cleaned. the rim becomes corrosive.

I bought a Slime tire repair kit in a canvas zipper case. I would never want to use the Slime in my car's tire unless it was an emergency BUT the rest of the stuff in the case is way cool! I got a compressor, extension cord, tire valves tools, patches, flashlight etc. The whole shebang. A lot of shizt in a small package.

It shouldn't corrode your wheel, especially the aluminum ones. And it's great for ATV tires, off-road truck tires, and.... well that's about it. Plus, I'm not sure I'd want that stuff all over my Tire Pressure Sensor. And your mechanic is going to hate you when he pulls that tire off. Spare tire is indeed the best remedy. I'm not going to order one though

I would not use it either. I would think that it would be bad for the tire pressure sensors. Best to just use onstar and GM's road assistance. Or my auto insurance covers it also.

Did the spare come standard on any of the trim levels? I didn't think about a spare when ordering.

Slime?

slime works---ok but this kit definatively fixes the tire. Mushroom shaped plugs will not dislodge---and it's easier to use than slime.
