Questions on painting my calipers

Going to paint my calipers tonight...FINALLY! So, I've been reading about the process, just to clarify from those of you who have done it:
Do I use an all purpose cleaner/degreaser first, rinse, then use brake cleaner with a stiff wire brush?
Do I just wipe the brake cleaner off or rinse it off?

Can someone answer this?

I've jus finished with my fourth coat of paint on my calipers. I've read that some use clear gloss enamel over the paint. What kind of gloss? I've got a can of Rust-Oleum Gloss Protective Enamel, can I use that? The directions say don't use on anything that will get over 200 degrees and do not use on galvanized metal. Should I get something else? The paint is nice and red, but not really shiny enough for me. Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the info. Now that the masking is off and it's beginning to dry, it looks great. Here's the link to the paint I used. They have all types of extreme and/or high heat paints.

I used the brake caliber paint from auto parts store. I have had them painted for about 6 months and I have a few specs on them. Just order brake caliber covers to see how they look.

No, I don't. I like the way the VHT went on. Covered great. I also like that they have a variety of high temp paints. One for temps up to 2000 degrees it says. Good for pipes, etc.
