ZL1 Recognition - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have been approached by a few people who don't know what a "ZL1" is. They know what a "SS" Camaro is but not the ZL1. It's interesting that people who like Camaro's don't know what a ZL1 is.

There were only 69 of the original ZL1s. It's not exactly a popular trim level like a Z28, always Camaro only, or SS, across the whole Chevrolet line up, which everyone knows.

I didn't even know a ZL1 was built in 1969 until the current one was produced.

I've had a lot of people ask me what I've done to it in terms of what they can see. They have no idea it comes stock looking like that

a plumber did come home to do a little job and he saw my ZL1 and he said to me,
''you should have bought the SS! one of my friend have one and they are more powerfull!''and i asked him''do you know what a ZL1 stand for''and he anwser me this'' the ZL1 have been made for ppl who just want the look of a camaro SS! without all the heavy duty parts''

i did stop talking and told him that he was home for a job and not for evaluate my car! there's 1 think i can say...he's job was perfect!

i just hope the guy did a search on the web about the ZL1

IDK, I've done this and people don't realize it has a blower. Maybe because it's blacked out?

A white van slowed down as it was passing my house. My ZL1 was parked in the driveway. I heard the driver excitingly saying, "That's a ZL1 Camaro!" I just smiled.

That is ok it is offset by the people that know what it is and appreciate it. I have had a lot of people on the road giving me thumbs up.

. My wife laughs. Of course a bright shinny right Camaro stands out no doubt.

I had a 2010 SS before and when I got my 2012 ZL1 my neighbor asked me if I got a new hood.
