I already have the 160 thermo and that's the same radiator ECS will be installing for me at the end of the month. Great product, actually going to be getting sponsored by them also.

If you just want a new shiney radiator, then go for it. If you're asking if you NEED one for the mods you have, the answer is no. As long as you're not having any cooling issues, you should be good to go.

I agree with this. I don't know why people think they need aftermarket radiators and lower thermostats. Your engine needs to operate at a certain temperature. If it is staying within that temperature range then there is nothing wrong. Just because you can make it run cooler doesn't mean that it is better for the engine. You want cold air going into the engine. But you want the engine itself to be at its optimal operating temp.

You Nailed this one Right ON

The Factory Radiator has been tested to over 1000 RWHP and stil able to keep it's cool with the Proper Fan Settings in the Tune.

Agreed. Simply tune the fan points and stock is good to go.

So if you use that center display you can watch your engine temps. If he tuned it he probably has the fans coming on sooner, and your temps might get down to the low 190's.

I haven't done a stat yet, but have one here. I think a 160 will let your car cool down more, exactly how much I don't know personally. What is the stock stat rated at 189? I don't recall at the moment.

That factory stat is 186 the fans can not be turned on lower than 192 unless you do a custom operating system

We don't want the engine to run cooler than 186, this is where the least wear occurs, clearences in the engine are correct, and Oil Additives become Active in the oil.

Remember the Stat is only responsible for MINIMUM Temp then it is fully Open, the Fans and Radiator are responsible to keeping Temps in Check.

Ted.
