454 is LS7 so yea for sure since that is what the Z/28 is. Many people have the 454 (LSX) motor installed here too.

LS engines are not small or big block in the traditional sense.
The engines you saw are not drop ins for a 5th gen engine bay. It is not cost effective to put one in but anything can be done with enough money. The 2014 Z/28's LS7 427 is an LS engine. It is not the LS7 454 Chevrolet offered back around 1970. About the only thing they share in common is the LS7 designation. Big block into 5th gen: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227385 And before we go off on a big block vs ls engine thread... it has been done. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=298435 Other threads that may interest you: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=287642 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96921 |

Ummm no. The LS7 is a 7.0l, 427ci. But yes the ls7, lsx454, lsx454r will all fit in the engine bay because they are small block gen IV LS based engines (although they all present their own headaches to do so). If you are looking for a true old school style big block, Physically will it fit? Probably. but you'd have to maybe cut or modify something's to get all the bells and whistles in there that you're going to need. Youll probly have to change springs, and motor mounts, Let alone all the issues you are going to have with the wiring/ECU and even smog/emissions stuff. And if you have a manual transmission (maybe even automatic) you'll have to change the input shaft and bellhousing. ect ect If you do it, it will be a nice piece and we want photos on here,... But I wouldn't personally even try it unless you've got a big bank account and have checked to see if you can get it roadworthy by the state. Not gonna tell you what to do, but I'd steer clear of this headache waiting to haunt you.
