Drifting to the left

Just got my 2013 Camaro 2ls a few weeks ago. It was brand new with 6 miles on it. So far the only issue I have is described below.

If I hold the steering wheel where both the steering wheel and the chevy logo appear to be centered I drift a little to the left. I took it to the dealer who said the car was not out of alignment and the tire pressure was fine. It's not really something that's a big deal but I thought if I held the steering wheel completely centered while driving on a flat straight road at 45 mph or 60 mph I should not be drifting to the left or to the right.

Am I just being picky, is this common. or is it cause for concern?

Thanks

Most cars will drift with the crown of the road. The road is higher in the center for water runoff and such. And it would be better for the car to go right than left. It shouldn't be a severe drift though. Should be pretty gradual. Take it to another dealer and see what they say. Have them drive it.

If you get going straight and let go of the wheel does the car drift?

If not, your wheel may not have been put on dead straight. Meaning that you're alignment is fine but the steering wheels needs to be taken off and re-centered.

Technically, yes you should be going straight when the logo is straight.

I'm going to be getting rims in a week or two and I can ask the shop to make sure the wheels are centered correctly.

I mean the steering wheel may not be perfectly center. I'm sure your wheels are good.

Just make sure you're careful. Don't get into an accident testing your alignment.

That is NOT how a steering wheel is centered. It's done with equal adjustment of the left and right tie rod ends.

Thanks Jessica. Going to dealership this weekend to talk to them and also have them rotate the tires. Will post back the results afterwards.

I mean if the dealer says everything is perfect then that's their only recourse to make it "center".

In reality dealers are worthless. Take it to a competent alignment shop and they will fix it.

And yes. You are correct.
