2014 - 2015 Camaro Nav update just released
Anyone do this?
http://gmnavdisc.navigation.com/prod...en_US/GMNA/USD GM wants $160 for it when car is 1 year old. They consider it not being a necessary update and is considered an accessory. If you choose to upgrade the system, it would be at your own expense. We pay $900 to have nav built into the car only to be a year or could be less and have to fork out more money. We should at least get one free update. They even hook it to your vin, so I don't think it would even work on any other Camaro in 2014-2015. Also, accessory should be able to be moved from car to car if needed. Software isn't an accessory. GM customer service says different. :( |

I would prefer an update to 2014 Mylink radio that adds guidelines to backup camera.

No mylink was a major disappointment I'd rather they fix the current issues then to try and get more money out of us. Plus I don't really see what this update does that our phones don't already do. And if you're worried about losing cell reception you could buy a portable gps system for about the same cost. I'd trust both of those over the mylink system.

I just took my 2014 in for service and the same day it just rebooted for no reason when I was driving my car just before. I told them about it, they couldn't duplicate it. But, found a service bulletin that updates the my link software. They didn't even know it was out there. It covers a lot of issues. But, it took at least 1.5-2 hours to download and install it. At one point they can to me and said it has another 1 hour to go before they could even do the oil change. They already had my car for a couple of hours doing the alignment before. I haven't noticed anything different yet. Just had to pair my phone to it again. That might help you out. |

With the price GM charges for the NAV, they should have better support for it. I checked ford's site and they charge for map updates too. I couldn't find anything on chevrolet's site that says you don't get updates and or have to pay to update it. |

This is GM's customer service response that I just got back.
My name is Mary Ann and I am a supervisor with Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. I see that you chatted in and spoke to Asia and you want your 2014 Chevrolet Camaro to be updated with the 2016 Navigation update. If you would like you can contact Navigation Disc Center at 1-877-NAV-DISC or gmnavdisc.com to check for promotions that may be available for your vehicle. This type of update is a customer expense but the Navigation Disc Center may be better to assist you. If you need further assistance please feel free to chat back in or call us at 800-222-1020. Sincerely, Mary Ann Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center Team Leader |

I wouldn't do it. I've yet to use the maps more than 2-3 times since my phone is faster and more accurate. Not to mention how long it can take to turn on when you start the car, as opposed to phone being ready to use right away.
I'm driving a drag car in the city- never have to worry about losing cell reception.

Fix the buggy Mylink awfulware... your phone GPS will always be faster and updated. As bad as some complain about Ford's Sync(had it in a 15 Explorer Sport), nothing compares to Chevy's Mylink!

I have 13 model year ZL1's I entered the VIN numbers and got a message stating that VIN validation was successful which I can only assume the update would work.
