It will run best on 93, but you COULD use 87 in a pinch. You would have to reset your ECM to get better performance when switching back to higher octane. I use 93 octane all the time. I tend to get Shell or Exxon.

Dude only put 93 in your car, that's what belongs in that 6.2 !!
Given your 1LE 87 is like giving your kids water on there cereal instead of milk... Oh and not to mention it cost like an extra 5 bucks at the pump...Not going to break the bank! |

Love it!! I think I'm going to use this example (literally - they will wake up to cereal with water) with my kids on an issue I'm dealing with....

Dealer put in 87. I immediately put in some Amsoil quick shot and ran the tank empty. Then filled with 91 and reset the ECM. I have been to some out of the way places and have yet been to a station that didn't sell 91.

I told my dealer no gas and no car wash. What does GM put in it? And if I've put in 100 octane once should I reset the ECM?

I would..... before you put in some 100oct. I would reset it before you run different octanes. though it's probably alittle overkill to reset it before you go back down to a lesser octane but it can't hurt
