I dont have y car yet. GM says its in quality control and Larry has it on the list to look up. So just screwing around I googled my VIN and this came up

You put your VIN in, it created a new record...

Google any VIN, and the Carfax 'Advertisement' will pop up, every time. Google is paid by Carfax to do that.

You clicked the link, and bam... it created a new record. It does a VIN look up to get all the necessary info for the car.

Also note, 0 records... Meaning there is nothing to search on.

Congrats... You added your VIN to Carfax by running the report.

Thanks. y point was all I did was put my vin in I didnt add any of the model info or manufacturing info into it yet it knew the info.

Is it possible it decoded the VIN to get that info ?

Any VIN that gets registered with the FEDS will show up on carfax but don't waste your time going onto carfax to see what it says about your Camaro cause it will only show that it has OnStar! Yes! I went and looked when mine showed up on it!

Yeah there is a secret decoder ring for all VINs. Pretty easy to program a website to do it.

I don't think there is a digit for on star. All Camaro's have it.

Once you register the vehicle when you buy it. That will show up in Carfax then it's really on the books as being on the street.
