Feeling vibrations when over 80MPH

So I've been having a little more fun with my 2013 SS L99 as the break in period comes to an end. And I noticed on the highway that as I surpass 80MPH (when nobody is around of course), there is a noticeable vibration/shaking, especially coming from the accelerator pedal...and no, it's not my foot shaking...lol...rather the pedal itself is vibrating/shaking...what would be causing this vibration only at speeds over 80?

Do you feel it in the steering wheel too? Maybe alignment issues, I see you live in NY hit any hard potholes or bumps lately?

I thought that too at first (alignment), but this car only has 1300 miles on it...and I don't remember hitting any memorable potholes...but I could have and just don't remember at the moment.

And I wasn't too sure an alignment problem would cause the gas pedal to vibrate...just the steering wheel...and I do think the steering wheel had a bit of vibration also...

Could it be a wheel balance issue as well?

You need an alignment

Alignment and tire issues are typically felt in the steering wheel (issues with the front) or the seat (issues with the rear).

A shaking gas pedal is odd, especially since it isnt connected to anything as these cars are drive by wire, the pedal pushes on an actuator or something that communicates with a motor in the throttle body to open and close the blade/valve.

Id look at the pedal itself to see if its loose or something.

If you feel it in the rest of the floor you could have a tire/wheel/or alignment issue.

Also check for any uneven wear or bubbles in the threading. It's possible it wasn't aligned correctly from dealer and you are just now noticing because you haven't reached that speed yet.

Thanks for all the advice...bringing it in Monday to have them check out possible paint defects on hood that I somehow missed before taking her home a few weeks ago (and yes, I've washed her...lol...I noticed these splotches after washing the first time).

Short story...looks like faint "splotches" on hood in about 4 different spots on passenger side...resembles the remnants of bird poop, however, I've never seen any bird droppings on my car in the less than 4 weeks I've had it.

And these splotches are very faint, barely noticeable except in the right light and at the right angle, but look like they are in or underneath the clear coat. I'm no paint expert, but that's what it looks like to me...

Car only has 1400 miles on it (damn I've driven it a lot in less than one month...lol)

Car was sitting on dealer lot for about 7 months...I'm guessing that is where this happened. Can't believe I didn't see these during inspection.

Dealer said during a preliminary look at it that they may have to bring it to their body shop. PITA...

True, I heard this is common with the P-zeros. It seems to happen to me every morning, since I leave my driveway and get directly on the highway at 60 mph when the car was sitting all night, get a vibration in the steering wheel that gradually goes away over a minute or two

Yep, I notice it too especially now with it warm in the day and cold at night. I cannot wait until it's time to buy new tires all the way around. Gonna go find me some Michelin.

It sounds like you just need to get your wheels balanced. It could be a tire issue, but that's not as likely.
