Ebay $179.00 axle back exhaust

2012 v6 vert 45th anniversary edition

Will the haters please sit down and shut up... some of us can't afford 500 to 800 dollars axle back's. Thank you in advance!

I was very skeptical about ordering these but I wrote to several people who had already bought them and all gave me good reviews.

They came in boxed and looked great. Took them to the shop this morning and had them installed. The fit was perfect except for the inlet pipe. I had 2 1/4 and they came with 2 1/2. They were notched so you could clamp them down to fit the 2 1/4 pipe. The cheap chinese muffler clamps immediately stripped out LOL imagine that. after install they were leaking around the connections so the shop welded up the joints and everything went fine.

The sound is fairly loud and aggressive not certain if I'll like them or not but we will see.

All in all I feel it was a GREAT investment and am extremely happy with it...

I'll post some pics and vids later next week.

So let me get this straight. They did not fit. They leaked. They had to be welded. You are not sure if you are happy with the way they sound...but all in all it was a GREAT investment.

There are lots of sub 400 dollar axlebacks.

They did fit... all shops weld in the pipes as if you just clamp them they WILL come loose.

The point of my review is if you try and do this in your driveway be aware that you cannot just clamp cleanly and go.

As far as the sound I drove 10 miles back from the shop and all exhaust have to season in. takes about a month.

Just my 2 cents.....since I have the v6 lfx, I liked the videos seen of the magnaflow mufflers and 4" tips. I don't know the part numbers off hand, but its on various threads. If you order the mufflers online at Advanced Auto and use various coupon codes (Google Advanced Auto coupons) you can get both mufflers for a little over $100 bucks..free shipping... The tips will run the same...so for less than $225, you can have both mufflers and the chrome tips... But if you post video and sounds of your setup, I may be tempted to try this setup. I am just posting this info for others that may be interested in a cheap exhaust alternative..

I remember rust. You may be reminded of it as well, and soon.

I give you props alone for not going with the expensive-as-hell defacto choices most seem to go with. Many here seem to be OK with spending 1,000+ for something that shouldn't cost more than a few hundred.

Looking forward to listening to the video. I spent $400 *installed* for magnaflow catback exhaust on my '94 Camaro and just have a hard time swallowing more than that for an axle back not including installation.

Hmm.... can you get any more videos from the back? That video in the muffler shop sounds absolutely horrible, but the video of you driving on the freeway sounds good.
