To Powder Coat or not to Powder Coat
I need opinions on whether I should start powder coating parts on my 1LE. I have the '14 2SS/RS 1LE and do my own powder coating in my garage. I have done many parts for quads and have many colors. I have been debating on powder coating the Strut Tower to match either the car body (I would use High gloss black) or match the hood (flat black) or leave as is and just powder coat a clear on it so it does not get nasty and hard to clean. Does anyone have any opinions or has anyone done this?
I can usually picture what it will look like after, but this one has me stumped. I want to keep it all stock looking, but at the same time want to dress it up. Thanks in advance! |

Have you done any other underhood add on's? Such as a cold air intake, strut tower covers, etc...? Think that would give you an idea. On our Synergy car, I did the brushed strut tower covers to match the 1LE/Vert bar and left the bar as is. Looks good together and continues the flow with the white. If you do anything else, create a theme. I would think the flat black bar would look good under the hood.

I want most of the car to be blacked out. For some reason, I have a strange addiction to black Chevy's (3rd vehicle, 3rd Chevy, all have been black). I just do not know if i want flat, gloss or just leave as is and have it as an accent type piece.

How about making the cast ends flat black and the center beam gloss black?
