RX Catch Can Maintenance Question

I bought my car when it had 14000 miles. It came with the rx catch can. I have driven 8500 miles after purchase and now the car has 22500 miles on it. I just did my oil change and I am wondering if I need to do any kind of maintenance on the oil catch can as the dealers wont do it. Can anybody help me out how frequent I need to clean this catch can and given that I have already done the oil change, is it still ok to clean the catch can now or does it need to be done at the same time the engine oil is changed? Some pictures and steps on how to do it will be very helpful.. Thanks
