Are any of y'all in the same dilemma?
I'm looking to get a 2014 1LE within the next two months. But I started thinking with the 6th generation due just pass a year from now. It wouldn't be the best choice since I'm all about "latest" model. (Significant comestic changes)
Not to mention I really want a V8. |

Well, if you get a 1LE you'll have a V8. Also, you have no clue what the 6thgen looks like, or if you'll even like it. Personally, if it's anything like the renders, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a '14.

I would wait. Somebody on here said that it's a possibility for the 6th gen to have the new LT1

I love my '14 1LE and I am glad I bought it. I did think about the new gen but I'm not one for getting the newest and greatest when it comes to cars. I get what I want and what I like. Hopefully will be the last Camaro I buy, next purchases will be a new Duramax (or Cummins) and a Corvette or something (for my mid-life).
After that I "should" be done buying cars and hopefully have my house, and other debt, paid off before that lol. |

Just personal opinion, but I can't see the 6th gens being better looking than the 5th gens. Cosmetically, I love the 5th gen Camaros more than anything else on the road. I'm sure the 6th gen will have awesome technology and performance upgrades, but I just can't see it being so awesome that I'll be tempted to trade my SS for it. I just can't see it happening...
But if you're about the latest models, you might want to just wait. And if you don't like the next gen, you can always buy a new one sitting around on the lot from the last of the 5th gens.

If you really like a car that's out now you should buy it. You have no idea what the 6th gen will look like even, the only thing known and it's just a guess that it will have an LT1 under the hood. Considering you are looking @ the 1LE I would definitely buy a 2014 & enjoy it.

Good answer. All of the big three have screwed up a good looking car at sometime. History will repeat itself. IMO |

The 6th Gen will be lighter and faster. You will also get stuck with cylinder deactivation even with the manual, perhaps other cave-ins to CAFE. Direct injection has brought headaches. Probably safe to assume the gen6 won't have as much room in the engine compartment for headers/etc and may not be as easy to work on. It likely will be different enough that the 5th gen will hold its own on the subjective scale. The 5th gen is heavier but so what - it is fast enough, very stable, and if you wreck the solid chassis has 5 star safety all around. I would buy the 6th gen 2 model years in, similar to the 2012 vs 2010 Gen 5. That means 2018 model year.

I had the exact same thought. I flipped so much that you could call me a fish out of water.
Like others have said you never know what the future will hold. If you hold out now who's to say you will hold out when the 2016's come out. I say test drive a 1LE and see for yourself. I did and look what I drove home in. It is a great car, smooth ride, has hill assist, great exhaust (NPP)... I really think if you drive one you may just end up driving it home. |

Oh, good to know. Maybe 2016 will be a good time to upgrade to a SS or 1LE
