This irritates me...
Does anyone else get rust on their brake rotors when washing?
As soon you drive, the rust is rubbed away. The problem is, the wheels are instantly then coated in "Brake Rust"! Irritates me. How do you all battle this issue?

Rustoleum on the rotors... or try waxing them ;-)
Just tell me if you're able to stop afterwards. I solve this problem by taking it for a drive after I wash it. The rotors are dry by the time I park it for the night. |

Machined steel..can not be avoided unless you dry the rotors immediately.
You could use a phosphoric acid wash diluted..use it to clean aluminum wheels...and takes rust off. Dont remember the dilution rate, but the product is... http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/...&Special=false

I get the same thing.
![]() My suggestion; After rinsing, drive up and down the driveway once or twice, getting enough heat in the rotors to remove moisture. Then, dry the car. |

I just get my wife, my son, and my neighbor to help me blow on them until they dry. We each blow on a corner. LOL.
Yeah, I hate it too. Don't have my Camaro yet, but I annoys me on my Titan...

I always took my S2000 for a drive around the block, braked and still gave it some gas, heated the rotors just enough to dry them, no problem.
if this doesn't work and it still irritates you, drink while you wash your car, thinkgs bother you less when you are drunk

unfortunately this is a common issue on all vehicles and you just have to wipe the wheels off again

funny I just was about to post this, I washed my car yesterday and rust came about on the discs. lol I was about to call the dealership LOL i drove the car to work and woo-lah it disapeard. This brings me to another question, will the bembro brakes rust over time? If so what preventive measures can I use, that rust made my car ugly!
