Unbelieveable......read this....

I installed LEDs in the dome light and trunk light....no problems. I ordered LEDs for the license plate lights. Popped out the driver's side housing and replaced bulb....no problems. I tried to pop out the passenger side housing and realized that the little clip that holds it in wasn't there. After messing around with it for awhile I pulled off the license plate and realized that I could get my hand up by the housing. I could feel the top of the clip and realized that it was broken off. I couldn't understand how the housing was staying in the bumper. I figured it out when I ran my hand along the housing and the bumber where it touches.....It is glued into place!!!!!!! Are you freakin' kidding me???? So some person while installing the housing at the factory obviously broke the clip and instead of grabbing another one, they glued the broken one in. You spend $30,000.00 on a car and people do stuff like this. It is under warranty and it will get fixed, but this is irritating and unacceptable......

it's more likely that during the pre-delivery inspection at your dealer, the bullb was faulty or something, and the dealer did the breaking/gluing.

+1

Sounds like shady dealer work. I wouldn't think the guys and gals at Oshawa would do something like that.

Yeah, I seriously doubt this happened in Oshawa. I mean seriously, the clips are right there for them, they could have just grabbed a new one and put it on. This happened at the dealer.

It was a dealer trade, it came from somewhere in P.A......Jones Chevrolet I think. My dealer is Ganley in Aurora, O.H. they deal with highend Vettes and I have been treated like a king there so I doubt it was them. Reguardless who it was, it shouldn't have happened. Just called my dealer and they are going to order the part without seeing it (just my word over the phone) and replace it when I bring it in for my first oil change. Classy dealership!

Can't be from Oshawa plant. I was there June 10 and no way workers can change a piece because those are coming one after the other within 4 or 5 minutes.

Has to be from the dealer....

I hear you guys that is was prolly the dealer but what doesn't make sense is that someone instead of ordering a $5 - $10 piece of plastic they would take the entire back bumber off to glue it. It just doesn't make sense to me. Thanks guys.

It makes perfect sense. Why would an unethical dealer wait for a part to arrive when he has his own method of "fixing" the problem right away? He simply wouldn't. And unfortunately people get screwed. I hate the REAL WORLD.
