What is with the dealer lack of color selection?

Is this just a Raleigh, NC area thing or is it everywhere that they only stock three colors.

Black, White, and Silver. A few reds, but that's it.

They act like you're insane when you say 'Where's a yellow one'.

It's not just Camaro's either, my car shopping experience has been that any color outside black, white and silver and then red.

No blue, no any other color.

I also don't see them when I'm driving around.

is this unique to here? Also what's with the dark green hate? I used to be able to get my cars in dark forest green or close to that for years, and then it was like a committee got together in the mid 2ks and said 'no more green'.

They order what they think will sell.
How many yellow cars do you see driving round ?

They order what is easiest to sell. You see the same thing everywhere.

yes they order what is most popular, but this is why I don't agree that certain colors "aren't popular". I never once saw an aqua blue on a dealer lot. same with that pale blue back in 1999. if the public doesn't see these colors how are they going to want them. not everyone is a fanatic, online fully knowledgeable about it.

They order what they think will sell the quickest. You can also go in and order yourself, or ask them to find the vehicle you want at another dealership. It just depends on how bad they want to make the deal. There are some sales managers that will only sell what is on the lot.

Looking out in the parking lot here at work, 50% of the cars are silver, including mine.
Also, yellow, like CRT, is a premium paint. Less likely to stock that, but my dealer has a RY V6 vert they've been trying to unload for about a year.

When I bought my IOM with orange interior in August, I made them go find me one. Two local dealerships only wanted to sell me what they had on the lot, the third said "give me an hour" and called back an hour later to tell me that could get the car I wanted. Guess who sold me a car. Anyway, he is right, order the color you want or ask them to find it. If they won't, go find another dealer.

Just look at the cars on the road, any make, blah..blah..blah

Synergy green will cure the blahs!

I don't have anything against black, sharp as hell when clean, but there are A LOT of black Camaro's out there.

Agreed. The bolder colors like lime green and neon orange are rare and so is blue. When I saw my blue Camaro on the lot last year I thought she was beautiful. I knew I had to have her.

Just order one from the factory. No dealer has ever turned me down. This is how I always buy GM cars and trucks.

The BRM ones are really hard to come by, (I've still never seen a BRM '14 in person) but around me all of the dealers seem to have all colors, just with stripes. Rarely any non striped cars. Dealer I ordered mine from has a yellow with white stripes, orange with black stripes, gray with red stripes... I'm not really a stripe guy myself (though the orange with black stripes was nice, imo the rest were ugly).

Dealer I bought my car from said it would be the last yellow one he's order for the dealership, they sat on it for 9 months before I bought it. I love it though.

I have 4 cars in my family. My son's 95 Buick Century is Gold Metallic. My 2006 Dodge Caravan is Green Metallic. My 2008 Toyota Yaris is Blue Metallic. And my 2012 1SS Vert is Crystal Red Metallic. Guess I think outside of the norm on colors and don't want what everyone else has.

Yep. That's how I am, would prefer not to match everyone.

Oh well. Guess I'll order what I want. They didn't have any MTs on the lot anyway
