Front License plates in WA state

I just purchased a 2010 2SS/RS with around 38k miles, I am waiting for the license plates from the dealer. i don't think there's a license plate thingee in front of the camaro..i wonder where previous owner put his plates or will dealer provide some bracket for it or i just drive around with license plate in glove box until warned/ticketed by cop or there's no requirement at all for the front plate due to design?
Thanks

There is a bracket for the front plate. WA requires front plate, but I just keep mine in the car, don't want to drill the front bumper. Drive it with out until you get warned or ticket.

There is also several option for a hide a plate or a bolt on that will bolt under the front splitter so you don't have holes in the bumper.

thank you,
I got stopped by a cop a day ago while i was going between construction cones he just ask for license asked if i am drunk i said no he said ok .. and complement my car "i like your car", throw lights inside " nice interior" "you just bought it?" and then hand me my license and told me to drive safe. I think he wrote my driving license info but he never went to his car..i should have asked him if i am getting a ticket. did i got a ticket? i do not have license plates tho i drove awfully slow on median lane because there was TAR all around the road and he followed me through whole construction area at about 2 am. I will check DOL website i guess for infraction :/

He just made sure you were legit, you would have been handed a ticket right then if you were to get one.

Been stopped 5 times for no front plate, all 5 times I got a ticket. I hate the cops around here for that. It has been 2 cops for all 5 tickets. I now have a front plate. I can't remember who makes it but it bolts to the existing bolts under the front. No drilling required and it doesn't really touch the front of the car.

You have a picture of your plate mount? Sounds good.

I do not have front plates on any of my cars or trucks, I have been pulled over at least a dozen times and only got a ticket once.

Here is a link to a no-drill plate holder. http://jacfab.com/products/camaro-pr...plate-bracket/

I have it but have not installed it.

Both of my Camaros have never had a front plate. No problems from the cops. I say risk it until you ticket.

I don't at the moment, but it is a very similar to the one that Vicster posted earlier. Might even be the same one, except his is for a ZL1.

A friend of mine with a steel fabrication shop built me one that attaches as shown above, I keep it in the trunk and if the question ever arises, I was just at a car show and forgot to put it back on I just looked up the actual law and it reads as follows. I guess the officer can be nice if he wants to... It also indicates a WSP can make the determination if your bumper not being drilled for bolts to hold the plate on qualifies under the wording of that law. It doesn't say anything about your local Sheriff or city cop though.

(5)(a) Display. License plates must be:

(i) Attached conspicuously at the front and rear of each vehicle if two license plates have been issued;

(ii) Attached to the rear of the vehicle if one license plate has been issued;

(iii) Kept clean and be able to be plainly seen and read at all times; and

(iv) Attached in a horizontal position at a distance of not more than four feet from the ground.

(b) The Washington state patrol may grant exceptions to this subsection if the body construction of the vehicle makes compliance with this section impossible.

Well the state troopers around here have never given me a break. Neither have the Sheriffs. But it was only 2 cops. One state trooper that has a hard on for me I swear, and one Sheriff that always waited outside my house for me to leave in the morning (I have since moved, so the sheriff doesn't find me anymore). I even have a friend that is a state trooper in the area. We hang out every now and then and he even tells me it's illegal, but that he would probably never ticket me for it. When I told him I had 5 tickets for it already, he couldn't believe it.

As for the comment about taking it off and leaving it in the trunk and saying you were at a car show recently..... it didn't work... I tried. But then again, it was with that trooper that has a hard on for me. Seriously... who pulls a U-turn on a busy road to chase me down just for no front plate?!?!
