WTF Scosche when are you going to get it right?

I have been wanting to buy the Scosche dash kit for a couple of years
but it seems like about 80% of of them don't work right or require a lot
of extra work to make them work correctly. Many Camaro owners are putting
their stock radio's back in because of continued problems with Scosche units.
How freakin long is it going to take to make a unit you simply plug in and it works?? And works means for the life of the car not 6 months.

I want one bad but with all of the problems I read about I just can't justify spending the money and be pissed because it doesn't work right every time.
What is the core problem with these dash kits that so many people are having problems with?

Russ

I had the SCOSCHE kit installed in my 2011 RS and not one issue the entire time I had the car. It was one of my best mods and I loved the unit. I know they had some issues with the kit but I still believe more than half of the issues reported on here are DIY caused problems. You have to follow the instructions to the letter during initial installation. I took my car to a top notch installer and paid a few hundred for the install. It was worth every penny

I have the kit as we'll and it's only been approx 3 weeks. Thus far everything works fine. I even turned it down so it's not as bright at night. I will agree my installer took his time and followed the directions.

I love mine...I have one of the original units where my remote keys/auto start have issues with distance. However the pluses more than out weigh the negatives (talking like a million to one). The 80% of the complaints you read about are from 20% of the posters.

I have the Scosche kit and have never had any issues. I installed it myself, but I have close to 20 years experience installing custom car audio. Keep in mind that MOST of the complaints are from amateur non-experienced do-it-yourselfers who hack away at their Camaros at home.

I have one of the original Scosche kits. It has been in my car for over 1.5 years and I have not had any issues that have been posted.

I installed it myself, but I have over 20 years experience in installation, and followed the install instructions to the letter.

Double D Mods is anyone going to address the Onstar module that is not available anywhere? Scosche themselves do not have an answer, why did they stop making them, was there a problem? Kind of silly of them to produce a dash kit for a Camaro that does not include a way to interface with Onstar.

I ordered one off of amazon like a week or so ago, said they were in stock then the order just disappeared can't find them anywhere. Well I did find one at a site that sells in NZ and AUS but it was double the normal price, I would rather go without onstar until they start pumping them out again.

But that is the question are they going to start pumping them out again? When I talked to Scosche they did not have a clue. If I knew for sure I could get one from NZ or AUS I would pay for it but I have orded from three different place that said they had in stock only to find out they don't. It is not really the loss of Onstar I just like to have everything work on my car, for them to keep selling these units without a word about the CAMOSM is really negligent IMO. So why cant they take a lesson from Metra which does work with Onstar?
