Battery Tender under the hood with CAI

Does anybody with a SS (and CAI brand) know where you can connect the negative battery tender clip as the negative remote post is cover by the CAI ?

just about anything under the hood would be ground. all you got to do is hook it up, it will let you know if its charging or not

I read that it has to be an unpainted surface. I'm thinking a header bolt?

If you remove the cover you can get to the negative post. That's what I do. Not like you need it on while you store it.

I don't store mine, it's outside covered most of the time in NJ. I may go anywhere from 3-7 days between runs so removing the CAI cover is really not an option ... especially with the hassle of putting it back on.

Sorry about that. That's what I get for assuming.

Clip it to the brass on the temp sensor that is threaded into the head by #1 cyl. That's where I clamp mine on.

Could be normal. Depends on how may live vampire fuse connections you have ( power is always on to the fuse without the car being ON or in ACC) ie. like the horn.

Thanks ! Is that easier to get to than a header bolt?

why not just wire up an adapter instead of using the clips?

When I took out the old air box it left an exposed screw post on the fender well. That's what I attach my negative clip to.

I just did this yesterday. I connected the ringed ends, and on the driver's fender there is a bolt connecting to (what looks like a ground wire). At that point you can connect your ground end to your tender lead wire. There are other areas that you can connect your ground wire at as well, such as the bolts around the airbox.
