How much damage?

Found this ZL1 on eBay and was wondering is this worth it to buy and repair or not? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...ht_1755wt_1182

Car appears to have hit a stationary barrier (concrete ?).
Whoever buys this wreck @ $21,000+ will be sorry imo.

Just watched the Video- It's a misleading joke.
Repairable hood-?, dent in rt fender from someone leaning on it-?.
I could go on & on- Run like hell guys !!

"Either way, the biggest thing you should know about any salvage title car is the history and how bad the accident was."

If this is the case, why didn't the seller disclose this info in the auction?

Rarely will you benefit from a salvage title repair unless you are a professional shop and/or have access to professional tooling. Last I checked, most people don't have frame pullers in their garage.

Like the others have already said, RUN from this mess.

It would probably only have any value as a parts car, but it looks like the most valuable parts have been damaged. So I don't see much value there.

Yup look at the two front end supports in the second picture.

That car is messed and will require time on a frame machine and a lot of labour hours.

Even then its still a branded title.

It would be a good donor car and that's it. But that shouod be the price fixed not needing repairs!

Asking this on Camaro5 is kind of like going to Facebook for medical advice. Your gong to get a lot of opinions, but very little useful information. The car is repairable, but unless you're a body man, the price of parts and labor could get expensive. If you are not planning on doing the work yourself, you need to show it to whoever you plan on doing the work and get their opinion. Also keep in mind that this car has a salvage title and will probably have a branded title from now on, which will reduce the value of the car. You can buy a clean, used, low mile, 2012 ZL1 for under 50k and that car, with a branded title, will probably never be worth more than 35-40k. If you use all new GM parts on it and pay someone else to do the labor you could easily end up with more in it than it's worth. You also need to check with the California DMV to make sure that they will allow you to title and register an out-of-state salvage title car and see how much red tape is involved. That process is relatively painless here, but I can envision a lot of pain in California. You also need to check with your insurance company and make sure they don't have restrictions on salvage title cars. Good Luck!

It's really hard to resell a salvage titled vehicle too. I've had two and both took much longer to sell and I had many many extreme lowballers.
