Opinions and help on my audio system overhaul.

Hello all, so I just got back into the Camaro world after a brief hiatus. I got myself a 14 2SS/1LE right before Christmas, absolutely love the car, really fun to drive. I had a 11 2SS/RS before and I am happy to be back in a Camaro. Anyhow as we all know the Boston Acoustics kinda sucks. So I am overhauling the whole system. I do have the mylink head unit w/ Navi, so I am not planning on changing that out. My plans are as follows:

Front speakers: Infinity Kappa 60.11CS, 6 3/4 component set
Rear speakers: Infinity Kappa 6x9 3 way coax
Amp: Alpine PDX V9, 5 channel amp
Sub: RE Audio SEX10D2 subwoofer
Enclosure: ******** drop in enclosure
Wiring: Kicker 4 gauge amp kit, ******** FARK kit.

Now besides RCA's what else would I need, would I need a LOC such as the audiocontrol LC6i or anything like that? How difficult would it be for me to do the install. I was going to go with either a whole JL audio or Rockford setup but I do not feel that spending the extra dough on all brand specific components is worth it. I had a shop here in SoCal who was ready to charge me 4k for a Morel speaker set up with the same Alpine amp and a JL 10W6V3, that is way too much for what I believe I could achieve for a fraction of that price. My goal is to improve the sound quality and give the system the bass it lacks. I can pick all the above components for a little over 1k buying most of it through Amazon. All the above components seem to have really good reviews and will not break the bank. Opinions, thoughts, suggestions are welcome.

Sounds like you have a good plan in effect, just need to add Dynamat.

Hey brother, welcome back!

The front speakers are not that hard to install, but that's speaking from experience on the 2010 doors; I'm not sure if the 2014 doors have the same bolts.

Wiring the amp on the battery isn't that hard and since you're going to be using the ******** wiring harness, it should make it easier to wire the speakers to the amp. However, have you verified that the harness works on the 2014 from Steve?

I think you only need a LOC if you are "grabbing" the signal from the rear speakers to feed the sub the low's that it needs. I doubt you will need it though, because of the ST harness you are going to use.

Hope this helps!

Thanks guys, now do I need to or can I replace wiring cables to the speakers or do I use the existing speaker harnesses?

I could be mistaken but I believe the PDX-V9 has doesn't have a sub input per se. The signal is shared from the 1/2/3/4 channels by simply setting the SW input accordingly. The low bypass filter prevents any high end signals going to the sub.
