New Z/28.R Race Car First Race 6 PM Fri., 1/24 Fox Sports 2
The first race for the new Z/28.R race cars is on television on Fox Sports 2 at 6 PM this evening. They will be running in the GS class of the IMSA Continental Tires SportsCar Challenge's 2½-hour Daytona Rising 200 endurance race. This is the former Grand-Am CTSCC series now running under the aegis of IMSA after the Grand-Am/ALMS merger.
The car is being campaigned by two teams: Stevenson Motorsports #6 driven by Robin Liddell & Andrew Davis, and #9 driven by Andy Lally & Matt Bell; and, CKS Autosport #01 driven by Lawrence Aschenbach & Eric Curran, and #00 driven by Bob Michaelian & Ashley McCalmont. Hopefully the Z/28.R has been allowed a fair chance at a victory; if so, there are some very talented racers behind the wheels of these cars, and it should be quite exciting. Well now I know how I'm spending my Friday night. G/F is working Camaro racecars on TV and I've got a fridge full of bacon and Dr Pepper. Life is good.
