Been a long time

In 2000 I was 15 and saw my first Camaro, i fell in love!
I got a job the next month and on 12/7/02 I was 17 and bought myself a 2002 Camaro in cash!
Sadly, 12/7/06 i was forced over a center divider and into incoming traffic. The Camaro died on her 4th bday :(
I have driven many cars between then and now, but i am finally back in a black Camaro, and it feels great
Few questions for everyone
Black wing intake worth the money? Is there any extra weight laying around this 4,500 pound beast to be lost? Light weight pullies? Aluminum drive-shaft?

Fixed that for ya and welcome! I've honestly never heard of a black wing intake but then again, I don't have a v6 so that may be why. And there's definitely weight to be shed. Search around a bit, there's tons of useful information here. Good choice of color by the way .

fixed what for me?
I only buy cars that are black or white. I prefer black and will only get a white one if there is enough black on it to make the color pop!

The weight. 5th gen Camaros may be overweight, but even an SS only tips the scales at around 3900 lbs, not 4500.

Also, welcome to the forum.

Yeah thats the curb weight for the v6s. SS (as previously stated) are around 3900. The only ones even close to 4500 are ZL1 convertibles and they're 4370.

It is good to know that i would have to get the car to 450hp to have the car with a 1/10 power to weight ratio!

I think the door sticker gives you the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating), which is the curb weight plus fuel, passengers, and any cargo. Basically means you can haul around 600 lbs of stuff in your car (including you).

Didn't realize that is what GVWR meant. thought it was just the car full of fluids. thank you for the information

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
