RS Package....Upgraded wheels cost xtra??

Hey Dudes, I guess I either have not been paying attention or someone pulled a fast one on me.
I just placed my order for my 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS last nite. I know the RS option is $1200 but according to the salesperson your are forced to upgrade the wheel package to either Mid-Night Silver or Polished chrome for an X-tra $470.00. I wanted to order w/ the standard 20"painted wheels but was told I couldn't. If this is true, the RS option actually is an $1670 cost to upgrade and not $1200. Can someone please clarify this. Sorry if this has been previously covered. If so could someone simply post a link for me.

I may not be the first... But...

I got the RS on my SS, 1200.00... The 470.00 is only for the polished wheels, not the midnight silver that come with the RS package. If you do want the polished, I believe you will have to pay the 470.00, as that is an upgrade separate from the midnight silver...

Hope this helps...

Not true the RS package comes with the Mid-Night wheels. Its only extra to order the polished wheels.

Also, when you "build" you car on the Chevy website and click the RS package, it makes the wheels look black. But they are truly not. Search the forum for pictures of both the polished and the midnight silver. IMO there is not that big of a difference in the two. The polished are just a bit too shiny for me, I kept the MS and they were part of the RS upgrade, just like it states on the Chev website...

The RS package is a $1700+ option on non SS cars due to the upgrade on the wheels. Have your sales weasel look closer.

TRUE, with the RS pkg you get the 20" midnight silver wheels. if you want a different wheel, such as the polished or standard painted wheels are extra. ONLESS you can make a deal with your dealer.

Leave the midnight silver that comes with the RS , they are really nice. It's a much better looking silver paint than the standard silver.

still pisses me off how v6 people get the rs package with 20" rims for 1200 and yet the ss people already have 20" rims but still pay 1200 bucks...where is the sense in that?

HOLY CRAP!!! Thanks Guys. I am glad I still have plenty of time to make changes.

I was afraid to go with the Mid-night silver because I was told they look like a dirty brake dust covered chrome wheel. I also heard that the polished chrome wheels were not that great either. I have only seen the painted wheels in person.

Now I am wondering how the Mid-night silver will look on SIM versus the Polished chrome. I wanted the painted wheels but was told I could not order them w/ RS package.

We got the polished wheels. They look good but I'm not impressed. My wife wanted them, and it is her car. Personally I think she should have saved her money and just gotten the Midnight silver ones, I think they look the best, plus she is already talking about putting after-market wheels on anyway ...

Check my sig pic out or look at my garage... My wife's SIM has Midnight Silver and they are not dark at all. You will be very pleased with Midnight Silver. I have a 2SS RS SIM on order with the Polished wheels but to me the difference is not that much overall.

Thats not correct the lower the starting trim level the higher the price the RS package is.
