Turbocharger as DD in Chicago?

Hi guys!
New to Camaro5, just looking for some feedback on getting a turbocharger. already posted a thread over in the lfx section, but was told to post here about durability in Chicago weather. Does the turbo get easily ruined in typical chicago weather? shes my DD so theres no avoiding the snow/rain etc. just want to be sure i'm not making a fatal mistake. would a supercharger be better for the weather? and im new to the modding game, so im FAR from an expert in taking care of this stuff.. (im trying and more than willing to learn tho!
also, where have you guys gone to get them put in/buy them from? ive searched online and havent found much in chicago that does it. that cant be right, being such a big city and all. maybe im not searching the right keywords.. ive contacted 2 places that have told me they dont deal with turbo/supercharging a v6. so idk
