so i have a conflict that i need some opinion about okay so my choices are

1. get the car now 2LT, no RS (what i really worry about), and get the cash for clunkers deal

2. order my car, wait for an unknown amount of time and risk not get the cash for clunkers, i would order 2LT with RS

so really my question is do you guys think RS is a necessity to add onto the camaro

If you can afford it, I think it's a necessity. If you can't afford it, you don't need it.

But I am glad I got it, that's for sure.

Any option is really a personal thing, you have to ask yourself, how badly do you want the RS package, hence; are the HID that important? can you live with a black rubber for ditch molding or do you want the body color one ? which looks more classy in my opinion, how about the tail light, do you care if they need to be darker or not? a big one is, the tires, all season or summer. Up here in Canada, the RS package comes with summer tires, but the non-RS comes with all-season. If the RS package is what you want, then if I were you, I would order the car you really really want and wait for it. Remember it's alot of money and the worst thing I believe is to engage into years of car payment with the notion that you did not get exactly what you wanted in the first place for the sake of waiting a few months.

This exactly. You're paying probably a VERY hefty car payment for this thing. There's no sense in doing it if it's not exactly what you want. I won't buy mine any other way than exactly the way I order it from the factory. But I'm paying cash for mine. Just my $0.02.

, but if you want the rs, get that. I'll never buy another new car thats not EXACTLY what i want, because frankly, what the hell are you paying for? you'll always see one you "should have bought". i get that feeling everytime i see a regular cab shortbed pickup with the factory 18's....

To me the RS package was a must. I LOVE the hids and Halos. It is part of this car for me. But that's me.

I've heard cash for clunkers ends in november. cant remember if its the 1st or the 31st

Yikes, so you've only really got 3 months? That's probably too quick to hope for an order to be finished. You may be able to find a 2LT with RS on a dealer's lot somewhere, though. You'd just have to broaden your search. Cash For Clunkers is quite a nice chunk of change and I wish I'd been able to qualify - the EPA thinks my other car gets 23 mpg even though it really gets 16.

Get the RS man. It's what you want. Wait a little while if you have to save the money you'd otherwise be getting from C4C. You'll be glad you got what you really wanted in the end.
