LLT V-6 Shifter Shaft Questions?

Would one of you guys or gals who have installed an aftermarket short throw shifter in your V-6 Camaro, PLEASE take a picture of the factory OEM shifter shaft and post it for me.

What I am trying to do is find out what the ACTUAL difference is in the shifter shaft dimensions from a V-6 to a SS V-8 shaft.

I have had people tell me that V-6 and the V-8 SS Camaro, both use the same shaft, but I find that hard to believe. The only thing that I know for sure is that the shift knobs will in fact interchange, and both have the SAME shaft DIA. at the TOP end of the shaft.

One of the forum members recently installed a short throw shifter from SLP that was advertised for an SS V-8 Camaro ONLY, and it worked fine in his LLT V-6. I e-mailed SLP twice to get more info. but had no luck in getting ANY response. It makes you wonder why.

If there is anyone who could help me with checking and posting the ACTUAL shaft dimensions from both the V-6, and the V-8 SS shaft I would SERIOUSLY appreciate it. I need to know:

The Shaft DIAMETER of both the V-6 & the V-8 SS.

The Pivot Ball DIAMETER for both.

The distance from the Pivot Ball to the lower Bearing housing at the bottom of the shaft.

What confuses me, is that there are some short throw aftermarket shifters such as the Hurst Billet 2, that will in fact work for both the V-6 & the V-8 cars.

Any help with ANY information regarding the factory OEM shifter shaft dimensions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks In Advance for your help.

All The Best
