2015 ZL1 - Planning on Buying

Planning on buying a 2015 ZL1 since this will be the last year for The Big Version. The 2016 model (if there is one will be smaller if gm holds to what they said about scaling the size of their cars down holds true for the zl1 and given cafe requirements).

My hope is they add a few more modern conveniences to the 2015 such as larger display screen and a bright Orange otherwise will get blue color do not think anything else is needed this car is that good.

Chime in if you are planning on getting a 2015 and state your choice of color for the car.

Can't wait to finally get info on the 2015 model.

Man that's really thinking way out there, and if it turns out to be the last yrs,the dealers are most likely not going to be as friendly with the price,or GM if they add more options, but I also do not see them increasing the size of the NAV...

It may be with CAFE that will will be nothing but a base /ss,and a 6tt on the table..come 2016

2014 was the year for the mid-cycle face lift.
I would expect zero changes for 2015, particularly as it is the last year.

All other features being equal, a larger nav screen would certainly be better.
However, the new system in the Impala is WAY worse in most ways.

I agree with the idea that the availability may be worse for 2015.
If you want one, get it now.

I am waiting to see what colors are available as my primary choice is orange but will settle for blue. Also, stuck paying $52k in taxes, there went my chance for a zl1 right now.

6 months is not long to wait. I do have 2011camaro v6 but need something faster for fun.

The ZL1 is an incredible value same performance as exotics but at 1/3 the price. I had considered a Ferrari or Lamborghini but too much of a waste of money. Plus I plan to do basic maintenance . myself on the ZL1 can't easily do that on those other cars. Not to mention, the ZL1 looks like it rolled off of a NASCAR race.

Did they not already sell orange ? I do not see them releasing it again..your best bet is to purchase a used orange from a earlier yr, you will save yourself 20k easy by the time it sounds like your going to be ready to buy one...

I just might do that, get an Inferno Orange in 6 months if they do not have a color I really like. But looking forward to two things in possibly the last year for the ZL1. 1) See if they update cockpit electronics with the latest and greatest and 2) I believe they will offer a few new colors. If they do neither then getting a used Inferno Orange probably for $40k is a nice alternative.

Can't wait to hear details about the 2015 hopefully in March.

I would be shocked if there were any substantial changes for 2015.

If they're making it smaller for 2016, that would be my main reason to not get one in 2015...

I would guess smaller means lighter with better power to weight ratio. I fully expect to be a very nice machine. I am sure that I will want one; although, I may not be an early adopter.

I am also waiting to order the 15, in another thread the rumor is :

"Laguna Blue" and "Lime Rock Green" will be offered on the 2015 Camaro models
- Blu Ray will be discontinued

order guides should be here soon !

I would think that if your dealer would do a search you could find an orange 2013 that is new some where. There are a lot of left overs out there. Would save a lot a money compared the ordering a new one.

GM needs to put the CCBS on the 15. Also throw in the new 8 speed tranny. I'll give you 12,000 for those items.
