Gauge package on 1SS

So, as I wait patiently for GM to build my 1SS 1LE, I was wondering if anyone has added the Gauge package after the fact? Typically the wiring harnes would be present to plug into, whether or not the wires are hooked up to anything on the other remains a question...

I was just thinking I could find a used gauge cluster at a salvage yard and plop it in.

Pretty sure I've read that others have done this. Plug-and-Play if I remember correctly.

I will be adding to mine. For $330 I think it is worth it. I like to see my gauges.

I might consider a swap for someone interested in the gauge pack. I would rather have a "tray" there where I could leave my cell phone and wallet. Especially considering all that all of the information in those gauges is available on the DIC.

From experience - anything in the tray winds up in the cup holders or floorboard when you step on it too hard! I'm doing this swap soon - Phastek and Gen5diy both have the kit for $375. I'd be up for a trade but I want to keep every original piece, I'm just weird that way...

Just did mine a week ago.. Ordered trough Gen5diy and could not be happier, their customer support and service are top notch.. You do have to get the plug and play harness that they offer. Love that old school Reto Look with them in..

Thanks, I think that this is the way to go. I am thinking having the Analog gauges will be easier to monitor at speed vs. clicking through the DIC. BTW does the DIC have a lap timer?

I have the 1SS and it does have lap timers - it records multiple lap times, I forget how many. I was hoping it would have the G-meter and time to speed clocks as well but I haven't seen them yet - that may be 2SS or ZL1 only...?

This was covered quite extensive a while back. Here's the link lots of good info, and you can get the gauges for less then $330.00. I got mine for $190.00 cant remember who, but it's a sponsor. I think Ritchy 2lt but i cant remember. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...+adding+gauges

That's where I got mine. Not sure if he has anymore though. Should be able to get one cheaper than 3 bills. For '13's you needed a jumper harness from GEN5diy. $75 I think. Not sure if 14's need it. Ask Ofer. Easy enough to install 20-30 mins.

I just sent you a PM, I have a friend who has a 1SS 1LE, and would like to add the pack.

Honestly the center dash/ radio pod is in the way, you really cant see them all that well. And the increments they gauges are in, well makes them hard to read. If I had it to over again I would not gotten them.
