Launch mode

Who has used this? How do you like it? How hard is this on the motor, clutch, tranny, rear end?

it works perfect! Just enough wheel spin to keep the RPMS up until she grabs...

launch mode is made to be easier on the drive train than doing it yourself.

So let me get this straight. Put it in lauch mode, floor it, revs go to 4k and just dump the clutch. Is this correct?

You forgot the "hold on" part.

yeah but make sure your drop the hammer, if you dont floor it all the way it will over rev to the limiter.

okay, so for all of you who have used this feature, you feel that it works pretty well, for some reason i cant shake the feeling that it just acts like traction control and just slows the car down, anyone else feel this way? or do you feel the computer actually keeps the wheels spinning fast enough to where it generate the best amount of wheel spin to go fast?

it revs closer to 5k than 4 in launch control, I have tried a few times, and from what I gather a nice throttle clutch technique will be faster.

On the GM video I watched, it never said faster than learning how to do it right, but more constant and easier on the car.

So, to make sure I got this right, the throttle needs to be wot PRIOR to hitting 4K, correct? My fear is that it's not going to stop at ~4K... but instead hit the limiter. I was never keen on ever hitting the limiter (I heard that hitting the limiter isn't a big deal, but I just cringe at the thought...)

You have to floor it for it to work, if you try to sneak up on it it will tag the rev limiter.
