I wax Whenever it quits beading up properly and wash at least once a week.
This product review thread is awesome: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=275418 I like Chemical Guys Citrus high gloss wash soap. It's super concentrated so a little goes a long way. Not knocking all the others, just haven't had the chance to use them all YET. Make sure you are not just wiping that dust off the car. Begging for swirls/light scratches doing that. Better to wait and hose it off. Also, don't clay it every month. It's not necessary and probably does more bad than good. A lot can go wrong if you don't use the right technique or something somehow makes its way into the clay. Just put your hand in a sandwich bag and lightly feel the surface with finger tips. You will feel the contaminants with the bag. If it feels rough then you need to clay.

You need to wax when water quits beading up like this.

I reapply my wax and sealant every 3 months or so. But it really varies from brand to brand, so the best way to tell is by the beading as 45th said.

You asked a lot of questions in your posts so I will try and answer them all.
1. You should wax, as stated above, when your car needs it. The easiest way to tell when it needs it is when your car quits beading water well like in the picture above. Now if you are ONLY waxing your car with carnauba wax then you will probably need to reapply for protection purposes once a month. If you are using a dedicated sealant and then a wax on top you would only need to reapply once every 6 months or so depending on if the car is garage kept and a variety of other factors,BUT With that said you may want to reapply carnauba once every month to fill any imperfections and restore optimal depth and shine. This would also make your sealant last longer. 2. Which wax creates the best depth and shine is really subjective. You can get excellent results from meguires #26 carnauba paste wax from their gold class line up at Walmart for very cheap. If you want that extra 10% of vividness and shine I would look into Blackfires paste wax, pinnacle souveran paste, and from what I've heard(although I haven't tested it) blackfire Montan sealant/wax hybrid does extremely well on red and black cars. 3. I will echo the above give your whole car a good claying once a year or so (again dependent on a lot of variables) and you should be good to go. Be extremely liberal with your lubricant when claying. 4. I will also say this. NEVER EVER EVER NEVER just wipe off your car when dusty you WILL scratch the crap out of it. If you don't want to fully wash your car when it is dusty look into Optimum No Rinse. If you would like to know how to properly wash using ONR just PM me.

At least once a month throughout the warm season, June to Nov. The accumulated wax will stay on during winter, and then in Spring I will strip off the old wax and start new.

I washed and waxed my 2013 2SS probably three to four times a week this past summer. After reading the above post's maybe I went a little overboard
. I use Meguiars cleaner wax and I use their detail spray in between washes. I'm actually thinking about buying the Adam's system, still researching. Paul |

Overwaxing actually takes wax off. So you're not only flushing money but also decreasing effectiveness.
Wax when your paint doesn't bead anymore. No more, no less. Wax does not layer as you guys seem to think. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

It works perfectly for me. My waxing routine has never let me down, as I've had a lot of years and experience with waxing and detailing.
