I messed up, need some help

Edit: it ended up being the #8 intake valve spring. Not driving hard, in the morning in my neighborhood. I hope warranty will cover it.

Get a meter and check the resistance of the plug wire ,make shure you did not crack the new plug .

I checked them before I installed, and compared with a known good cylinder I was at 38.8 ohm. I also cleaned out the grease just to make sure that wasnt causing any issues with boot to plug contact. All of this happened with only the two fuses being removed, I dont get it.

Edit:
Good call of checking the wires again, I pulled #8 and #1. I noticed #8 was jumping around a lot every time I moved. I checked #1 and moved around and it never changed the reading. Looks like I have a bad #8 wire, Ill go pick up a new set wires and report back.
Thanks again!

I managed to crimp the wire connectors a little with some channel locks to see if the reading would stabilize and they did. Wire seems fine but Im still throwing a #8 cylinder misfire for now apparent reason. Anyone else?

If your car is a 2012 why not just take it to the dealer and let them figure it out?

I pulled # 5 and #20 fuses, let the car sit for over an hr and installed them. Started up the car and it ran fine, took off for a drive and all the sudden my stability control light comes on and the car starts misfiring. I turn around and get home asap. After reading the codes, Im seeing random misfire P0300 which turned into P0308 #8 misfire. I pull the plug and it looks a little rough along with the rest. After a new set of NGK plugs, the car is still misfiring and giving me a P0308 code.
After that, I tried switching the wires (MSD 8.5mm) from #8 to #2 to see if the misfire jumps to #2 cylinder but instead I get a P02548 code along with the P0308. Im at a loss right now, so I pulled the two 5 and 20 fuses and disconnected the battery.
What could have happened already since the car seemed to be running fine the day before, besides me messing with it.
Any help would be great!

James
Which NGK plus and what gap?

Did you use Never Seize on the plugs?

Never Seize is a conductor and can short a spark plug if it gets on the center electrode or porcelin.

Do you have any stock wires you can test with?

No anti seize and no stock wires, just a swap but I try a new wire (MSD 8.5) I had laying around for a different vehicle.

This was all happening before I swapped in new plugs but Im running the NGK Iridium's (TR5IX I believe). I ended up swapping plug wires again with a different cylinder and coils as well. Still reading Cylinder 8 misfire. Then I pulled the injector plug and ohm'ed the injector, 11.8 and I checked the ply for any shorts, reads the same as cylinder 1.
Right now I feel like its a commanded misfire from the ECU.
I also pulled the #8 new plug and it was bone dry and brand new looking while #1 has some tint to it.

Im at a complete loss here, car ran fine prior to this. Im done for the night so I pulled the #5 and #20 fuse again for the rest of the night.

Looks like Ill be trying a fuel filter tomorrow after reading a thread for GM's. Someone basically had the same exact symptoms as me down to the injector not putting fuel into the cylinder. Right before changing the injector, he changed the fuel filter and it solved everything. Ill follow up tomorrow.

Sounds like a bad injector driver in ECM another member had a similar issue recently

I'm the one Ted is referring to, i was getting a p0207 injector malfunction code.
I had to replace my pcm to rectify the problem.

Thats helpful, I'm just getting a P0308 (#8 misfire) right now, and apparently there is not fuel filter to replace. Ill be looking more closely at the injector itself tomorrow and bust out the stethoscope.

Heres the current update, #8 injector is working fine. I pulled it and cleaned it up not issues. I logged the O2 voltages and they are terrible, there is hardly any switching, real lazy and unresponsive. When I pulled the old plugs, they had the reddish brown tint on them looked like fuel additive was run. Im thinking that may have fouled up the O2's as well, Ill have to pull one to verify but right now thats what Ive been lead to.
