Car wash vs hand wash

Hi everyone my car is a lil over a month old . I had some advise given to me about washing my car by hand with baby shampoo . I was wondering if anyone heard about this and was also told to put oil in my gas tank after every two gas fills . Can u please tell me if this is true and what other advise u can give me as a new owner

As far as the oil. Never heard of it. When it comes to baby shampoo. I would just use a highly sudded car soap, one with a more gel like consistency. There is car soap for a reason why use baby shampoo? I've owned my own detailing business for 7 years now. I've never once had to use baby shampoo.

Always hand wash. No Touch car washes don't clean good and the ones with the rollers cause bad swirls. Always use a CLEAN microfiber towel. If you drop it on the ground DO NOT shake it off. Just get a new one. Fill two buckets. A soap bucket and a rinse bucket. If at all possible blow dry the car. If not use a sheep skin shammy cloth.

Ok I was told the reason for the baby shampoo was to keep the shine on the car . Is there something I can look Into getting that helps the shine after I hand wash ?

used to do what ever my friends suggested, and like my friends back then I had a car full of swirls and halo's. I guess we all live and learn what not to do. save your clear cote and don't listen is what they suggest.

I wash my baby with car wash, it gives him a coat of wax so it keeps his skin moisturized
