Another First Time Buyer

Hey guys, first time posting here and I have been lurking on the forums for quite some time and finally decided to post.

So here's my situation. I am in the market for '14 SS with 1LE package. I graduate from college on Sunday and start my new job the next day and want to get a new car as a reward to myself lol. I have been scouting some dealers for prices and options and really only 1 dealer in my area had a good selection of 1LE's. So i went in today and got a quote. My mother is a UAW employee so i can use her gm employee discount. The salesman first brought out a quote with the supplier discount price. I told him that was the wrong price and he tried to act like I was wrong. Upon insisting him go and make another he finally admitted it was the wrong discount. The price came up to about what i was expecting besides one thing. There was $1000 "accessories" fee which i didnt understand. He said it was for wheel locks and some coating or sealer (not sure) that they add to the exterior of the vehicle.

My first question is should i pay for the "accessories" fee? Does this sound like something you guys have paid for when purchasing camaros?
My second question is this. Do i qualify for the recent college grad discount? Or does having an employee discount negate this? Are there any other discounts that i am eligible for? Thanks

If it's already installed, you have no choice aside from getting a different car.

If it's not installed yet, simply say you don't want it.

Discount wise, it's one or the other.

You can also get whatever incentives are currently offered (at time of signing). Other items are noted in numerous other threads, such as this one: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=355624

If you are happy with the price less $1000, just make a firm and final offer and see what they say. I'll bet they take it. They have plenty of profit to play with. If they don't accept it immediately, tell them "if you change your mind, call me" and walk. They hate that.

Yes the price is good without that extra 1k. The thing that bothers me is that the accessories arent on the invoice that he showed me. If it comes down to it then i will say im not buying the car if i have to pay the extra $1000.

They will accept your offer. Be firm and be prepared to walk. They wont let you leave. Gar-on-teed.

Coatings/Sealants and undercoating is a sham, BS, malarkey! Don't let them try to sell you that crap. Most dealers will fully detail your car (mine took 4 hours) for free when they want to be proud of their vehicles that drive off their lot. Wheel locks are tangible... look at auto part stores in your area for pricing on them - probably $40-$80 (but they are probably charging an overpriced $200!). Anything they have "added" to the car not on the window sticker, they can remove (if they actually did something). They do want to sell the car. They lose money with it sitting on the lot. But they won't lost money on those "accessories", so tell them either refuse to pay it and see if they'll keep it all on, have them remove what is physical, or order you another 1LE/SS vehicle without their so-called accessories and you'll buy that one!
