2014 Z/28 price vs 2015

So we know MSRP is $75k. Were you able to buy the car (2014) for $75 k in MSRP or did dealers add a $25k premium to the price like the 2015s?

There have been dealers selling 2015s at MSRP. If a dealer is marking it up $25k, they plan to keep it for a loooong time.

We should all say we are paying 25k above to push the price up.

Some rich guy who just has to have the first one in his area and will probably let it collect dust in the garage

If I was rich and wanted it now I would pay it. What is 25k if you have millions.

People that pay above MSRP make it harder for everyone else to buy the car and make them available. Where I live you have many higher income people that buy cars at local dealers above MSRP which make it harder for everyone else to get a good deal because the dealer knows it will make its money from the next chump that shows up. I literally have to drive at least an hour from where I live to get any semblance of a deal because of people paying at or above MSRP.

I live in Vancouver which has the highest real estate prices in North America. Prices are set by supply and demand, so you are correct people with more money get what they want before us less fortunate. When you sell your cars do you drive that extra hour or try to sell at the highest price possible? If you get a car and it appreciates do you sell it for what you paid?

If a dealer can get more and he wants to gamble and hold on to it for an adm so be it, he gambles buying hundreds of cars hoping they sell. I'm sure the Gold Cruzes are not flying off the lots.

These great countries open markets are part of what makes them so great.

I agree with you to an extent. For an exclusive vehicle I can see that. Heck the first Z28 they are selling local they are selling through an auction STARTING at MSRP. However, the vehicles I am talking about include the Cruze, Sonic, Traverse, Spark. All selling for more than they should pay. When you have young people with money to burn, and never bought a car before, they will buy at what the dealer says is a fair price, not necessarily what is a fair price. I just went through this recently when bought my wife a new car because we needed more room because she is pregnant and had to drive out of the area because we couldn't get a deal in town we were comfortable with.
