Cool Footwell Lighting with T10 Bulbs

So I figured I'd share my recent foot well lighting project. My issue is, I wanted leds that matched perfectly with the dome light, foot wells and stock dash color. People who supplied t10 bulbs (dome light bulb) that matched led strips are usually costly and I found it difficult to find the factory color when buying the sets. Anyway if you looking for a cheaper way to do foot well lighting and what to be able to swap out the bulbs (change colors down the road without rewiring) this is the way to do it. Total cost was about 40 bucks, that because I bought wires a switch and an add a circuit fuse connector. The connectors and bulbs cost me 20 bucks total (these are the parts that replace the led strips in my foot well install compared to others who have used the strips).

Anyway here are some pictures of the stuff I used. So you get the idea.

T10 bulbs (I have 2 in each foot well) single chip in each, search "ice blue t10" on ebay and there are hundreds, I paid 6 dollars for 50 of them shipped to my door.

Next up you need the pigtail they plug into, I used 4 of Grote partno: 68380. These are available at any local heavy duty truck parts place, you know tractor trailer parts. Or often you can find similar pigtails off ebay, I knew these existed through Grote from my days of working on the big diesel trucks so that's where I bought em. These are the same socket that is in the dome light of the car.

[These dont have adhesive or anything so mounting them requires getting creative with zip ties instead]

Wire the lights in parallel when connecting them together, and I used this DIY for all the electrical hookups. It's well written so no need to rewrite.

Final product looks like this (you can see the ice blue color is a perfect match to the radio panel)

Sorry should have taken more pictures hopefully everyone gets the idea. Overall I'm very pleased , because now I can buy any set of cheap t10 bulbs off ebay. I need 5 of them and I can replace the foot wells and my dome light and they will always match each other (great for swapping colors before a show and not having to pay huge RGB led prices). The "ice blue" color matches gm blue perfectly. One other advantage is these are less bright than the strips, so I can leave them on while driving. You can decide how bright you want by the amount of led chips on the t10 bulbs you buy as well. I just used single chip ones and like the brightness they put out.

Let me know what you guys think!
