The VIN is nothing, unless it is 1 or the last. I have a a new plane that had a very early number and it was just a mess to get it right. In my eyes better to be way down the line then the first to get used to assembling. I know when I buy a used plane or car I want the latest number I can get. That also applies to avionics, they get their modes later on as they are used.
