S/C boost upgrade fuel question

When you put an overdrive on eg 18% when you are cruising eg highway speed etc and times you are not in boost does the car use more fuel compared to no overdrive even when not in boost pressure.

I know the supercharger will be spinning 18% faster at all engine rpm but I guess the other question is at what times does it use the bypass throttle blade.

Love the current highway and normal driving fuel consumption so wondering what impact that will have on those times I'm not driving hard.

bypass is working at cruise...no issues at cruise with negative changes to economy

Even though it is in bypass while cruising your still spinning the rotors 18% faster which both makes more heat and consumes more energy.

How much additional fuel consumption that turns in to we don't know for sure because we have not done any back to back testing.

Simple Physics say you will give up some economy albeit minimal.

Ted.
