2.0 mk4 jetta :sm0:

so a friend of my friend started talking shit on my car because it's an automatic. i asked him what he had and he said a 2.0 jetta and i busted out laughing in front of him. I guess he didn't like that so he challenged me to a race and after numerous attempts to let him down easy he just wouldn't back down. He seems to think he can actually beat me on a track. His car is stock, and yet my car has the following mods.

Maggie tvs2300@11psi
zl1 pump, ADM FPCM and 80lb injectors
headers
GT9 cam+ls3 conv
intake
zl1 wheels with PSS's
trailing arms
tie rods
1le sway bars and end links
strut brace
zl1 SW retro cat back

Some people learn visually. Show him what bus lengths are in visual terms at the local drag strip. I'm sure he will thank you for the lesson.

they are called 2.slow for a reason! And about that jetta in the vid, if I am correct that is a VR6 transplant with a turbo. The GLI's came with the 1.8t stock. Guys usually swap them out for the VR6 engine. I used to have a 2001 Jetta Wolfsberg edition. They really take well to tuning.

In the end there is no way on earth that a 2.slow would even come close to beating any camaro.

According this site the 2011 2.0 Jetta did 0-60 in 6.2 seconds, that's a wee bit quicker than my stock auto '14 3.6L

http://www.zeroto60times.com/Volkswa...mph-Times.html

With any mods, no way.

A stage 2 that's well driven with any FSI or TSI engine should edge out a modded V6 Camaro. As for the OP, a stock 2.0 of any year is a joke compared to your car.

The MKIV GLI came with a VR6, either a 12 valve or a 24 valve, or a 1.8T. The MKV GLI came with a 2.0 FSI from 06 to 08 and 2008.5 and newer the 2.0 TSI (minor differences but almost same power unless tuned). MKV Wolfsburg came initially with a 2.5 5 cylinder, but later was only offered with the 2.0T out of the GLI with GLI brakes and suspension, but a base leatherette Jetta interior and premium trim upgrades.
