throttle body screws vmax

I have a reoccurring fear when ever I install new throttle body. Im always worried the screws on the butterfly will back out get injested by the motor and grenade it. I hope im just crazy to worry. Anything to look for on a ls3 body to ensure they are snug? Thanks

I would say just make sure they're tight for peace of mind. Now that I've read this I want to go check them.

Small, but effective mod list:

Roto-Fab Intake, TSP 2" Long tubes, TSP catless mids, MSD spark plug wires, stock catback, Elite Catch Can, APEX washer relocation and scoop, VMAX throttle body, Diablo InTune-Tuned by Matt@FSP, and a JacFab license plate bracket.

Although, I don't really know, I imagine there is some kind of thread locker on the screws so they don't back out... Perhaps one of the vendors will chime in and confirm this to put you at ease.

I've never heard of any of them losing a screw before. You could always put a driver on it before you install one.

I know my Bo White TB uses different screws that are hardened with a bigger head, and are loctited in place. He modifies the shaft, which is why his are different.

heard of it happening on a batch of bbk body's for fords and a few Nissans. This was a while ago. I ended up instaling the throttle body this morning after comparing it to stock. it looks like the ends of the screws were mushroomed out with a punch so im comfortable now. So much smoother throttle response im thrilled.

Isn't the VMAX throttle body an OEM part with the inside ported? I was led to believe that the part looks just like the OEM one, unless you start looking at the porting.

Please confirm, as I'm about to put my VMAX in. Thanks.

They would probably get sucked out an exhaust valve before anything could happen if it ever did happen, which isn't likely.

Yes they are OEM TB's. He's talking about the screws that hold the throttle plate in. The plate is removed during the porting process and he was worried they may come loose if they weren't loctited, or something.

Probably just blow through without damage and get stuck in the fist cat converter it encountered . Still I would not want to test it on my own car . a little Locktight goes a long way .
