2010 Spoiler Chip Issue
So I'm replacing my stock spoiler and once I take it off I see just how much damage it has done to my decklid. Unfortunately the new spoiler doesn't hide it, so I take my car down to the local Chevy dealer.
They rescheduled me for this past Tuesday, letting me know it should be done by today. I called them earlier today and the guy says they're re-spraying it since the paint guy didn't like how it came out the first time, but I should be able to pick it up today. As I'm leaving to pick it up, they call back and say I'm going to have to wait until Monday as they've only been spraying it with the clearcoat. He says they need to mix paint for the paint code my car has (CGM). Now I'm no genius with paint, but for a spoiler-chipping issue, wouldn't that be a given? It was quite obvious the chips were through to the primer.

Yeah, not sure why they were only doing a clear coat

Don't mention the new spoiler to the dealer.....
I had mine ask if it was stock before they would even look at my car to fix it

![]() I was hoping the new spoiler would cover the chipping so I wouldn't have to take it in. When I saw that it wouldn't cover it, I just left the car spoilerless when I took it over to the dealer. I had the printout of the TSB in-hand so I went in prepared. When I got there, the Service Manager initially insinuated that if I hadn't taken the spoiler off, the chipping wouldn't have happened. I showed him the TSB, and he went to look it up on his computer. After he said "ok, here it is..." I knew I was in the clear. Anyway, I don't know if I buy the whole "oh we only sprayed the clear coat on your entire decklid" bit. My feeling is they haven't even looked at my car yet... at least I hope nobody's that stupid.
