Quantum Brake Ducts: Support Vehicle by Lower Control Arm
If you have the Quantum Brake Duct kit and installed it, can you please give me a tip on this post I made in the Brake forum?

Hey Brian, use the normal jack points. I did mine with my tire off and just made sure i had the rotor turned all the way, this way there was enough travel(didn't do this the 1st time...dohh)then just figure how your going to route the hose so that you can zip tie it to im assuming the control arms.

Thanks, mark. this really helps. I forgot that I replied to your thread originally.
BTW, when you pulled off your calipers to remove your rotors, did you re-install the caliper bolts? I've been reading / researching that these are ONE USE bolts. See they are TTY (torque to yield) which means once you torque them to 30 lbs you're supposed to then turn them another 90 degrees. This apparently elongates the bolt somewhat and renders them unusable for ongoing insertion. Some people put Red LocTite on them before installing a second time. Others here always replace them. Anyway, I thought I'd mention this. May be worth just making sure none of them have come loose. |

You jack the car up with the jack pads we make, if using lift or floor jack.
There are 4 places on the Camaro for them to be used |

We lift car by jack pads and support the car with jack stands on the sub frame.

@skylane, I own these ZL1 add on Jack pads. They have split my jack black rubber pad. So I put wood on the Jack and the aluminum block on that and the 2x4 snapped too. Does the hand drawn picture in your link that says 1" wheels off the ground mean that the car should only be raised 1" off the ground?

Im not sure how i feel about these at this point. I bought 2 of the plastic one's and they just didn't work, in fact one of them split right down the middle. At Fontana in May MTCobra gave me one of his metal one's, it actually worked but slipped and bent my metal lip. Sorry the pic's are a little blurry but i had the camera as far away as i could to get the pic, i could of jacked the car up to get a better pic, but im confident all here can see.

I always used a hockey puck in the jack pad with my other cars, I tried the aluminum one top of the puck because I was trying to avoid puckering the skirt, and it turned under just like Cornerspeeds! Now I put it directly on the jack, I wish it was bigger and less prone to rolling over.

I installed them with the suspension drooped and wheel locked at max extension. That way you know exactly how much slack it needs and the ducts can be cut to the appropriate length. Otherwise you risk them being short and popping off during suspension travel or lock to lock turns.

Dude yeah, the 1st time i used the plastic ones it folded in on it's self. I like the concept of them but am still nervous since this happened with the metal ones.

Buying a jack with oversized round rubber head works best in my opinion. My lift also has fairly large square rubber tips, and I've always found an easy way to lift any of the cars I've ever lifted.
On a side note, there are also jack stands with round rubber heads; they are also very useful compared to those with the little cavity in the middle.

I use the metal ones, a lot, and I haven't had any issues. However, I do wish the base was wider because every time it looks like it could shift and roll, just like it has in the pictures. I wish they were made with a wider base, like a trapezoid.
