Caliper color
Will be doing the CTS-V/ZL1 big brake conversion soon and the only thing left undecided on the upgrades are the colors of the calipers.
Yellow 2010 2SS/RS with black stripes, black powdercoated rims. Everything on the exterior of the car (except the lights) is yellow or black. (link to pics in my signature) I can't seem to find anything that suggests any color was used for Bumblebee in the Transformers movies. I'd like to maintain the theme of the car, but am also curious to see what others would suggest for "custom" colors. Thoughts I have so far: Yellow - would look cool, but I think it would be hard to keep clean and would look "off" if not color matched properly. Black - would keep with the theme of the car, but I wouldn't be able to "show off" the brake upgrade Red - there's something cool about a set of red Brembos, but I think the color is a little too "common" and wouldn't match anything else on the car. Other. Give some suggestions in the replies. Royal blue? Synergy Green?

What about yellow calipers with red lettering of the brake company you go with

Yea with the yellow, you definitely have to stay on it so the dust doesn't build up. If you can get some pads other then the stock Brembo pads, I would, you would have a lot less brake dust.

The calipers I'm getting are the AC-Delco CTS-V replacements, so I guess *technically* they are Brembos. I do like the look of the yellows. Perhaps yellow with black lettering? Red lettering looks cool too.
Too many choices...

I'm biased, but I think yellow looks great with black wheels.
If you're worried about matching the body color, you could go with black calipers and yellow 'Brembo' decals.

^^^ That looks nice. How hard is it to keep them clean?

Not as hard as the wheels! The wheels are just plasti-dipped and porous enough to attract a ton of dust.
Yellow is bright enough to shine through a normal amount of brake dust and since they're inside the wheels it's tough to tell how dirty they are sometimes. Good clear-coating will help keep them clean too.

Do the caliper brake kits come with clear coat?

Yes they are real brembo's. They are stamped brembo made in Italy and have a cereal number. When you prep them for paint just use a red scotch bright pad, clean them and paint.

I'm not sure if they do or not. You shouldn't have any trouble finding a can of VHT clear coat at Napa though.
I didn't buy the kit, just bought the primer, paint, clear separate from Napa. They are all VHT for calipers/engines.

DEFINATELY YELLOW! Then go with complimentary colored Chevrolet and Brembo lettering maybe red and blue - should look awesome. Keep it bright!
Keeping them clean shouldn't be a problem. The last thing I do after washing my car is dump the final 1/4 of the bucket of soapy water into a designated POS bucket and using an old wash mitt/sponge, I "roll" it around on the inside of each wheel and over each brake caliper - they look good as new!
