Key FOB recall

Okay so my 2012 key FOB has been acting up to the point where the button stays depressed and the key won't lock into place so I took it to Chevy and they said there is a recall and that they would order me a new one so I agreed, afterwards they told me that they would take the key out of this one and it would be an independent key. This worries me because I don't want a big hole in the side of my FOB! Does anyone who has done the recall have a picture of what the fob looks like afterwards?

You have a big whole you still have the switch just no key. It's worth the switch. You get into an accident and hit the key you're ignition is turning off and no more airbags.

You can probably fill it with something else so then it isn't just nothing.
