Have you tried a forum better suited for non-5th gen cars?
I'd recommend ls1tech.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have you checked for codes stored in the PCM? It could be alot of things. Is the throttle cable sticking or not opening smoothly? Is the throttle body dirty? THe throttle position sensor may be pooched or the IAC motor or both. Its a 20 year old car so lots of things to check.

There might be a vaccuum hose disconnected. My 3.4 has done the same thing in the past. Once I found it and reconnected it the idle was back to normal.
